The Rez Bluez workshop:
On Saturday, September 24th, from 3:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m., at the Museum
London, 421 Ridout St. N. This workshop will explore the very little revealed history about the possibility of a Native musical influence on the formation of the early blues. In most history books written on the blues, there is no mention of the cultural exchange and inter-mix that happened between runaway African slaves and Native Americans. Some musical examples, both traditional and contemporary will be shared by a panel including Elaine Bomberry, Music/Radio/TV Producer; Brian Wright-McLeod, Radio Producer/ Host/Author The Encylopedia of Native Music (www.encylopediaofnativemusic.com); and Murray Porter from The Pappy Johns Band. There is no fee to attend the workshop.

The Rez Bluez projects are honoured to be included in the programme for
`The Gathering of Good Mindsš. Nya:weh, Chi-miigwetch to Dan and Mary Lou
Smoke for this invitation.

Hope to see you in London in the Gathering of Good Minds!
