The Niimitaa Dancers

the Niimitaa Dancers attend the Wiijiniimbaweyaang (Let us stand together) Public School on the Chippewa of the Thames First Nation. Niimitaaâ means Let us dance in Ojibway. These young people have come together in the past three years to celebrate their heritage and honour their traditions through dance. They will be joined by Jasmine Peters, a find young hoop dancer of Dene and Ojibwe heritage, born in Manitoba and raised on Christian Island, Ontario. She has been hoop dancer for some five years.
