Bonita Lawrence

Bonita Lawrence, (Mi'kmaw) teaches Native studies and sociology at York
University. Her research focuses on mixed-race, urban and non-status Native
identity. Bonita is the author of "Real Indians and Others: Mixed Blood Urban
Native Peoples and Indigenous Nationhood." She has co-edited (with Kim
Anderson) "Strong Women Stories: Native Vision and Community Survival" and
"Indigenous Women: The State of Our Nations" -- a special issue of the journal
Atlantis.
